New child-care facility opens Sept. 7

The Washington University Family Learning Center will open Tuesday, Sept. 7. The 19,900-square-foot center is located on the North Campus and offers care for 156 children from the ages of 6 weeks to 6 years. The center serves the children of faculty, staff and students. FULL STORY

Kids with sports concussions need time out

Young athletes are especially vulnerable to concussions because their brains still are developing. A team of concussion experts, led by a WUSTL sports medicine specialist, recommends that no athlete be allowed back into competition the day of injury. It may be weeks or even months before it’s safe to go back on the playing field. FULL STORY
